Hatch Street Guard Gloves Review
When it comes time to pick a pair of tactical shooting gloves, you have to understand that the overall selection process is going to be very (very) personal. After all, the whole point of having a pair of shooting gloves on is to boost your performance when you are shooting – no matter what that means to you specifically.
For some people, they are going to need the baddest looking things on the planet, the same kind of tactical shooting gloves that Delta operators deploy with in hotspots all over the world. For others, the Hatch Street Guard gloves are more than going to get the job done.
A simple pair of shooting gloves, you aren’t going to find too terribly many “bells and whistles”, space-age construction materials, or any other fancy innovations in a set of Hatch Street Garden gloves – but you are going to be able to take advantage of some pretty consistent performance all the way around.
Constructed almost entirely out of neoprene and nylon spandex (with digitized synthetic leather alternative palms to give you a bit of extra grip where you need it most), these are just about as close to a second skin as you’re going to find on the market – though they are a little bit on the heavier side.
Secondly, they use an almost one-piece construction method that practically guarantees that you aren’t going to deal with a catastrophic failure in the middle of a mission, even if that’s only sending a couple of .22 rounds down an empty can or two!
Thirdly, these are very flexible gloves that you’ll be able to use in a multitude of applications. While you probably won’t want to waste them on taking out the garbage or doing a bit of yard work (they are a little bit too expensive for that kind of grunt job), they would certainly get the job done if you asked that of them.
As we mentioned above, there is absolutely nothing high-speed or low drag about these particular gloves.
In fact, they look a little bit boring when compared against some of the more advanced options out there on the market today. However, if you don’t think that you’re going to get a call up from the boys in Delta, and are only intended to use these gloves out at the range when you are shooting with your buddies (or in a competition), they are more than enough to get the job done.
What Makes the Hatch Street Guard Gloves so Special?
The thing that makes these Hatch Street Guard gloves so special is the fit and finish that you can expect thanks to the neoprene and nylon spandex construction materials.
You’ll want to purchase one size smaller than you usually do (these tend to run a little bit on the larger side of things), but once you snug them on your hands you’ll be good to go!
How Do These Stack Up Against the Competition?
As mentioned above, these gloves are pretty much Stone Age when compared to most of the competitors.
Even Mechanix Wear gloves (the originals) look like they are from the future when stacked up against disease Hatch Street options, and because they are available at just about the exact same price you might want to look elsewhere for slightly more advanced options, without having to spend too terribly much more money.
If you want a good pair of general-purpose gloves that double as perfectly adequate shooting gloves in a pinch, these Hatch Street options deserve a look!
